Editorial Policy
This policy explains how Budapest Field Guide's content is produced, what standards it's held to, and how we handle the parts of travel information — prices, hours, availability — that change over time.
Research Standards
Guides are researched against official sources where they exist: government tourism offices, public transportation authorities, and attractions' own official sites. Where no reliable official source is available for a specific detail, we say so rather than presenting an unverified claim as settled fact.
How We Handle Variable Information
Prices, opening hours, and booking requirements for attractions, baths, and transportation change regularly, often more than once a year. Rather than stating a specific number as current and risking it being wrong by the time you read it, our guides describe relative cost tiers and general time patterns, and consistently direct readers to the relevant official source to confirm current details before traveling. Each guide also displays the date its information was last reviewed.
Editorial Independence
No business relationship with any hotel, attraction, restaurant, or tour operator influences what is written about it on this site. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage, and we do not use affiliate links that would create an incentive to recommend one option over another based on commission rather than merit.
Corrections
When an error is identified — whether a factual mistake, an outdated detail, or a broken link — we correct the live page and log the change on our corrections page. We do not quietly edit substantive factual claims without a record of the change.
Scope and Limitations
This site does not claim firsthand, on-the-ground experience for every detail it covers, and does not present invented personal anecdotes as fact. Where a claim reflects editorial judgment or a general pattern rather than a verified fact, we try to frame it accordingly rather than stating it with false certainty.
